📘 What Is the Persian A-level?

You don’t need GCSE Persian to start, but it helps if you already know some basics. All exams are held once a year, usually in May or June.
🧩 Exam Structure — 3 Papers
The exam includes three written papers testing different skills: translation, reading, listening, and essay writing.
📝 Paper 1 – Translation into English, Reading & Research Writing
Time: 2h 30m | Worth: 40% of your final grade
- Translate a short Persian text into English
- Answer reading comprehension questions
- Write an essay based on your independent research topic (for example: women in Iranian society, education, or social media culture)
No dictionaries or notes are allowed — so practice translations early!📚 Paper 2 – Translation into Persian & Essay on Literary Works
Time: 2h 40m | Worth: 30%
- Translate an unseen English text into Persian
- Write two essays about Persian literary or film works you’ve studied
Examples include:

- A Separation (film by Asghar Farhadi)
You can write about two books or one book and one film — but not two films.
🎧 Paper 3 – Listening, Reading & Writing
Time: 2h 15m | Worth: 30%
- Listen to recordings of native Persian speakers
- Read a short text on the same topic
- Summarize both sources and give your opinion, explaining which viewpoint you agree with and why

Persian A-level چیست؟
این آزمون سطح پیشرفتهٔ زبان فارسی از طرف Pearson Edexcel برگزار میشه و مهارتهای ترجمه، خواندن، شنیدن و نوشتن تحلیلی رو میسنجه. همهٔ ارزیابیها در یک نوبت May/June انجام میشن.
🧩 ساختار آزمون (۳ بخش)
📘 Paper 1: ترجمه به انگلیسی + خواندن + نوشتن تحقیق
زمان: ۲ ساعت و ۳۰ دقیقه | ارزش: ۴۰٪ از کل نمره. شامل:
- ترجمهٔ یک متن فارسی به انگلیسی (۲۰ نمره)،
- درک مطلب از چند متن فارسی (۲۰ نمره)،
- نوشتن پاسخ تحلیلی بر پایهٔ تحقیق مستقل دربارهٔ یک موضوع فرهنگی/اجتماعی (۴۰ نمره).
در این بخش دسترسی به دیکشنری یا یادداشتهای تحقیق مجاز نیست.
📗 Paper 2: ترجمه به فارسی + مقاله دربارهٔ آثار
زمان: ۲ ساعت و ۴۰ دقیقه | ارزش: ۳۰٪. شامل:
- ترجمهٔ یک متن انگلیسی به فارسی (۲۰ نمره)،
- دو مقالهٔ تحلیلی دربارهٔ دو اثر (دو رمان، یا یک رمان + یک فیلم) از فهرست رسمی.
نمونهٔ فهرست: رمان عادت میکنیم (زویا پیرزاد)، نمایشنامهٔ خانوادهٔ نیک اختر، رمان پُلِ کارتاستال؛ فیلمها: جدایی نادر از سیمین، آفساید، سوپراستار.
دیکشنری و یادداشت آثار مجاز نیست. نگارش تحلیلی با استناد به متن لازم است.
📙 Paper 3: شنیداری + خواندن + نوشتن
زمان: ۲ ساعت و ۱۵ دقیقه | ارزش: ۳۰٪. شامل:
- پرسشهای شنیداری با گویندگان فارسیزبان (۳۰ نمره)،
- یک سوال ترکیبی: خلاصه و ارزیابی دیدگاهها از یک منبع صوتی و یک متن (۳۰ نمره).
دانشآموز میتونه پخش صوت رو نگه داره/برگردونه. دیکشنری مجاز نیست.
تقسیم درصدها (جمع ۱۰۰٪):
- Paper 1: ۴۰٪ | Paper 2: ۳۰٪ | Paper 3: ۳۰٪.
🚀 چطور برای Persian A-level آماده بشیم؟
- شنیدن هر روزه: پادکستها، اخبار و کلیپهای فارسی گوش بده تا گوشات راه بیفته.
- تمرین ترجمهٔ دوطرفه: روزی ۱۰–۱۵ دقیقه متن کوتاه از فارسی→انگلیسی و انگلیسی→فارسی.
- فیلم و ادبیات: فیلم ایرانی ببین، از دیالوگها یادداشت بردار؛ خلاصهٔ فصلهای رمانهایی مثل «عادت میکنیم» رو بنویس.
- تحقیق مستقل: یک موضوعِ فرهنگی/اجتماعی از سرفصلها انتخاب کن و فولدر منبع درست کن (خبر، مقاله، وبسایت، مصاحبه). الزاماتِ تحقیق در Paper 1 آمده.
- نوشتن تحلیلی: فقط توضیح نده؛ دیدگاه بساز، استدلال کن، نتیجه بگیر (این دقیقاً همون چیزیه که در AO2/AO4 سنجیده میشه).
یادت باشه: در جلسهٔ آزمون استفاده از دیکشنری مجاز نیست (در هر سه Paper)، پس از قبل دامنهٔ واژگانت رو بالا ببر.❓ سوالات پرتکرار (FAQ)
امتحان دقیقاً چند بخش و چه زمانی دارد؟
سه Paper در یک نوبت May/June: Paper 1 (۲:۳۰، ۴۰٪)، Paper 2 (۲:۴۰، ۳۰٪)، Paper 3 (۲:۱۵، ۳۰٪).

- نوع: رمان
- موضوع: زندگی روزمرهٔ زنان ایرانی، روابط خانوادگی، استقلال شخصی
- محورهای پیشنهادی مطالعه: هویت زن، جامعهٔ معاصر، ارتباطات انسانی
- خانوادهٔ نیکاختر – ایرج پزشکزاد (Iraj Pezeshkzad, 2001)
- نوع: نمایشنامه
- موضوع: طنز اجتماعی دربارهٔ خانواده و ارزشهای سنتی و مدرن
- محورهای پیشنهادی مطالعه: تغییر فرهنگی، سنت و مدرنیته، ساختار خانواده
- کارت پستال – روحانگیز شریفیان (Ruhangiz Sharifian, 2008)
- نوع: رمان کوتاه / داستان
- موضوع: مهاجرت، غربت، هویت ایرانی در خارج از کشور
- محورهای پیشنهادی مطالعه: هویت فرهنگی، مهاجرت و انزوا، امید و تغییر
🎬 فیلمهای تعیینشده (Prescribed Films)
- جدایی نادر از سیمین – کارگردان: اصغر فرهادی (Asghar Farhadi, 2011)
- ژانر: درام اجتماعی
- موضوع: روابط خانوادگی، عدالت، اخلاق و قضاوت
- محورهای پیشنهادی مطالعه: نقش زنان و مردان، تعارض طبقاتی، واقعگرایی سینمای ایران
- آفساید – کارگردان: جعفر پناهی (Jafar Panahi, 2006)
- ژانر: درام اجتماعی / طنز
- موضوع: زنان و تبعیض جنسیتی در جامعهٔ ایران
- محورهای پیشنهادی مطالعه: آزادی، نابرابری جنسیتی، نسل جوان
تحقیق Paper 1 دربارهٔ چی باشه؟
یکی از موضوعهای فرهنگی/اجتماعی از تمهای مشخص (مثل خانواده، آموزش، رسانهها، گردشگری، هنر معاصر و …). تحقیق باید مستقل باشه و بر یک کشور متمرکز بمونه.
چه مهارتهایی بیشتر نمره میآرن؟
درک دقیق متن/صوت (AO1/AO2)، زبان دقیق و متنوع (AO3) و تحلیلِ مستند به شواهد (AO4).
